The modules are intended to supplement lectures. Brief notes are provided, but some of the themes will be discussed in greater depth in lectures. Some of the lecture material is not covered by this CAL course.

This module contains many simulations to help you visualise some of the more difficult concepts in transmission theory.

The simulations are programmed using the Java language. When the computer system is heavily loaded, these can run extremely slowly. The technology will develop with time and all of the applets in this course have been kept as simple and effecient as possible to keep the speed up.

There are occasions when we have used stationary images in place of moving applets. This decision has been taken when the applet involved would run simply too slowly.
