The main aim of the course is to give delegates an overview of technology issues that distinguish high definition TV systems from standard definition. The focus will primarily be on encoding, transmission, receivers and displays, but will also explore production processes where they have a particular impact on subsequent parts of the system.
Staff of any organisation (e.g. production house, platform operator, carrier, transmission company, CE manufacturer) who need a clear view of the wider context within which their role lies. Some prior knowledge of the principles of digital television will be assumed).
